Welcome
Welcome to Our Organic Farmhouse. I’m so glad you found us here and my prayer is that you will find hope, encouragement, and a bit of humor as I share the raw moments of our faith, family, and life on the farm with you. Trust me, it’s no perfect picture, as you never know what adventure each day holds- whether that be bath time before 10am because our son has fallen into a mudhole, or a piglet living in our basement in our attempt to “play Fern” and save little Wilbur.
You will almost always find in our home muddy boots and clothes, freshly laid eggs waiting to be washed, and a to-do list that has once again been left unchecked. But more then that, you will find a home, though small and never perfectly clean, is filled to the brim with love for one another and love for our Heavenly Father. If our walls could talk, I hope they would say that while we are nowhere near perfect, our home is filled with genuine laughter, unconditional love and a rich education that not only is learned through books but by our real life experiences on our farm.
This blog is something that God has laid on my heart for over a year, but it’s only now that I have found the courage to take the leap and let my naturally introverted self be known. Recently, while dealing with a tragedy, I was inspired by a scene from Little Women on Masterpiece, in which Father March encouraged Jo to sift through the pain in her heart and write. This is my attempt to do just that. To find the courage to sift through my pain and share my true self through the written expressions you will find on this page. So grab a cup of coffee , (even if it makes your 3rd cup of the day), put on your boots, and join this farm girl as I share the real adventures of our life with you.
Abide in Him Always,
Ashley
