Home

Today’s post is inspired by the #webelieveinhome initiative hosted by @magnolia.

We believe that home is a fortress; a sacred place that fills our soul with longings, never to be outgrown.

We believe that home is not a museum in which its treasures are to remain untouched, but rather a storehouse of love and laughter, that offers life-giving oxygen to all who dwell and enter her quarters.

We believe in a home that is built upon the firm foundation of our Heavenly Father and being purposeful to hide His Word in our hearts.

We believe in a home of authenticity where we are safe to share our true selves, and also the raw-emotions that come with living this sometimes broken, but blessed life.

We believe in a home that allows mistakes, the humility to ask forgiveness, and then in turn, extending grace to the one who has wronged us.

We believe in beauty and are intentional to fill our home with its purest forms, consisting of captivating compositions, wondrous works of art, timeless hymns, and candles; lots and lots of candles!

We believe in forest expeditions and in the freedom to explore and observe all that nature has to offer. The verdurous mosses, the song of the blue-bird, the rolling of the brook- all of these gifts are like a healing balm to a wounded soul.

We believe in the family table and in the sharing of meals and rich conversation that not only fill our stomachs, but expand our minds as well.

We believe in rich literature that is found in the classics.Winnie-the-Pooh, Charlotte’s Web, The Swiss Family Robertson, Little Women, and Huckleberry Finn: these are the stories of heroism, selflessness, and love that will shape, define, and inspire our children to become the person of whom they were created to be.

We believe in traditions, both large and small. Whether it’s the grand exuberance of the Christmas season, a laid-back game night, or an unfiltered dance party- our comfort is derived simply in the familiar rhythms of life and home.

We believe in the profound significance that comes with working in the dirt and in the Biblical law of sowing and reaping. Together, we work side-by-side and in conjunction with God, the Master Gardener, to produce a crop that will eventually make its way to our own family table, as well as to others in our community.

We believe in Proverbs 24:4: By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures.

We Believe In Home.

Abide in Him Always,

Ashley
